Mallorca, Spain was our favourite cease of the cruise! Right here’s the recap of our day, together with visits to Palma, Port de Sóller, swimming at Port de Valldemossa, and Valldemossa. Take a look at my Explora II cruise submit right here.

Mallorca, Spain

Mallorca is on the high of my listing of locations to return to! It was stunningly lovely. I haven’t been to Hawaii, but it surely’s how I think about Hawaii to look: attractive cliffs, lush landscapes, and water essentially the most good shade of azure blue. It’s well-known with celebrities, too: apparently Steven Spielberg’s yacht was within the space, and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have a home close to the place we had been.

Breakfast as we docked

Each my sister and my pal Ellen had not too long ago been to Mallorca, so I consulted them on an itinerary. Our port cease was Palma, which is an even bigger metropolis, and we wished to get outdoors of the town. Ellen beneficial we spend the day within the city of Valldemossa and get there through Uber, however the excessive that day was within the excessive 90s, so we actually wished to do some swimming, too. I used to be additionally fearful about getting an Uber again to the ship since we sadly didn’t have the longest port day right here.

On the final minute, we pivoted and requested my sister if she might prepare for a day journey via her firm, and whereas this was undoubtedly our greatest splurge of the journey, it was price it. She was in a position to assist us (thanks Larbs!) and we had Daniel from LifeXperiences as a implausible tour information for 5 hours. We’re so glad we received to see and do extra since this ended up being such a stunning location!

Palma

We began the day in Palma and drove as much as the best level to see the views.

Port de Sóller

From there, we drove to Port de Sóller the place each Laura and Ellen stayed. I might love to return again right here! That is the view of the cove from the lighthouse high level!

Deià

We drove from Port de Sóller to Deià, alongside unbelievable cliffs and stopped to absorb the views.

This view was simply completely breathtakingly lovely!!!

Port de Valldemossa

You’ll be able to see the tiny city close to the water – that was our lunch and swimming vacation spot. I might not suggest driving down there your self – the hairpin turns felt unimaginable, however Daniel was a professional!

We had lunch right here the place I received a marinated salmon salad, and Thomas had a neighborhood cod particular. Spanish wine FTW!

Swimming on the Cove

Daniel was type sufficient to mortgage us a few of his private snorkeling gear, and we received to swim for about half-hour within the cool water. It was refreshingly magical.

Valldemossa

Our remaining cease of the day was Valldemossa the place we explored cobblestone streets, had lavender gelato, and walked via Chopin’s gardens. I undoubtedly might have spent half a day there and would love to return!

We predict Mallorca could be a very good first European go to for the boys due to all of the water actions, and subsequent time we’d like to hire a ship!

We mentioned goodbye as we sailed away from our ship at sundown.

Market Meal

For dinner that night time, we determined to go to the Market which we felt had a few of the greatest meals, together with nice salads and wood-fired pizza. I at all times attacked the cheese board, too, as a result of cheese is my favourite meals : )

This was our remaining night aboard Explora II, and we loved drinks on the Skybar deck.

Subsequent cease: Barcelona!
